Last year HTC bought a majority of vastly popular audio equipment brand Beats (by Dre) for $300 million, in recent news the original owners have bought back 25% of HTC’s 50% share for $150 million making them the majority shareholder.

According to a press conference for HTC and Beats the business deal offers “Beats with more flexibility for global expansion,” and that HTC will remain the largest outside shareholder and also maintain mobile exclusivity.
