Announced in 2006 Final Fantasy Versus XIII gave hope to JRPG fans that there might be something to look forward to that would blow their minds, figuratively of course, which has been lacking this generation of gaming. The game has not seen such limelight and was thought to be under heavy development but as per the info of Kotaku the game is cancelled.

According to Kotaku’s sources the game has game has been cancelled leading to demoralization at Square Enix hence rather than announcing the cancellation publicly they plan on just letting it ‘die out’. Furthermore, other sources tell Kotaku that the funds from Final Fantasy Versus XIII have been shifted to another Final Fantasy project perhaps Final Fantasy XV? Either way if the game doesn’t show up at upcoming upcoming Tokyo Game show than the rumors may probably be true.
